Have you heard about AI whisky? Yes, you heard it right. World’s first artificial whisky is finally here...... that too, a single malt whisky. The blend master is AI and the whole process of making is monitored by Angela D'Orazio the 'chief nose officer' of Mackmyra distillery, Sweden. Currently, the distillery's machine learning models, powered by Microsoft's Azure cloud platform and AI cognitive services, are fed with Mackmyra's existing recipes, sales data, and customer preferences. With this dataset the AI can generate more than 70 million recipes that it predicts will be popular, and of the highest quality based on what kind of cask types there are in the warehouse. This is not only faster than a person carrying out the process manually, but thanks to the algorithm’s ability to sift through and calculate a vast amount of data, new and innovative combinations that would otherwise never have been considered, can be found. Forbidden Fruit, a citrus-based liqueur is made from a particular type of grapefruit called as shaddock as well as honey and brandy. Forbidden Fruit Liqueur was first created in the late 1800s and became a well-known ingredient in many classic cocktails. After the product was acquired from the original producers by the Jacquin Company, it stopped being made in the 1970s as they repurposed the bottle design for their new Chambord Raspberry Liqueur.
