It is the story of Puerto Rico’s national
drink
Ramón “Monchito” Marrero working in Caribe
Hilton’s Beachcomber bar was entrusted with a new duty by the management. He
had to formulate a signature drink for the bar that brings out the exotic
flavours of the island. Ramón tried several mixes and finally succeeded in
creating a classic drink. It took around 3 months of sheer hard work to
formulate the first recipe of so called Piña Colada.
Believe it
or not-
There is a
Piña Colada song written and recorded by British-born American singer Rupert
Holmes in the year 1979.
